Passports
and National identitycards
The
Swedish national ID-cards are considered
by the Republic of Cyprus to be valid travelling
documents for the purpose of entry into the
Republic of Cyprus,
provided that they carry the nationality
and photograph of the holder, as well as an expiry date.
However,
Swedish authorities consider the Swedish
national ID cards only to be valid for travelling
in the Schengen area, of which Cyprus is
not a member.
The
Embassy of Cyprus therefore recommends that
Swedish nationals use their passport when
travelling to Cyprus.
