Deputy Gov. Spokesman – Kokkina
The Deputy Government Spokesman,
Under-Secretary to the President Mr Titos Christofides expressed the
Government's satisfaction over the fact that the Turkish Cypriots'
crossover to Kokkina was completed without problems. In statements to
CNA, Mr Christofides also commended the discipline and the sense of
responsibility exhibited by the inhabitants of Pyrgos, who, he said,
peacefully demonstrated the firm request of all of us that "the
Limnitis crossing point be opened once and for all and that a solution
be found between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, in which there
will be no separation lines and Cypriots will be able to move freely in
all of the island's territory".
Asked whether he believed that there would be a response from the T/C
side to the request regarding the Kato Pyrgos inhabitants' crossover,
on 2 September, to Agios Mamas in occupied Morphou for pilgrimage, Mr
Christofides said: "On that, no one can say anything".
