25 and 28 April 2010 Poetryevents with Kyriakos Charalambides
On April 25, 2010, The Embassy of Cyprus in Sweden, the Greek Federation in Sweden, the Swedish-Cypriot Association in Stockholm and the Greek Academic Society organizes a poetry evening with the Cypriot poet and author Kyriakos Charalambides, following the publication of his poetry collection "Ordens tyranni och andra dikter" in Swedish, translated by Anna Maria Gull.
The event will held in a premise belonging to Adolf Fredrik's Church (opposite the church on Kammakargatan 30, at the corner next to the ABF-house on Sveavägen, at the Metro station Rådmansgatan). After a couple of short speeches, the poet will present his work. The program includes poetry reading and songs and will end with a reception. The event on April 25 addresses primarily Greek-speaking audience and will take place between 17:00 to 19:00, followed by mingle with drinks and snacks until 20:00. No registration required.
On April 28, a similar event is organized at the Mediterranean Museum in Stockholm, for a Swedish-speaking audience. Professor Bo Lennart Eklund will present the work of Charalambides and the poet himself will also present his poetry and read a selection of his poems, which will also be read in Swedish by actor Yngve Dahlberg. The event will take place between 17:00 to 18:30, followed by a reception with drinks and snacks until 19:30. 4-10 April 2009 UTSTÄLLNING AV CYPRIOTISK ARTIST
Haris Epaminonda ställer ut i Malmö Konsthall mellan den 4 - 10 april 2009.
Haris Epaminonda (född 1980 på Cypern, bosatt i Berlin) arbetar främst med
fotografi, collage och videokonst. Utgångspunkten för hennes papperscollage är
material hittat i böcker och tidskrifter från 50- och 60-talet. Hennes videor
är sammansatta av olika funna filmklipp såväl som konstnärens egna filmade
sekvenser.
Haris Epaminonda studerade
vid Royal College of Art och Kingston University, London. Hon representerade
Cypern vid den 52:a Venedigbiennalen (2007) och har även medverkat i den 5:e
Berlinbiennalen, Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin (2008) och i den 9:e
Sharjahbiennalen i Sharjah, Förenade Arabemiraten (2009).
